SmartDog Update V4.7-r3102: New integrations and powerful features

With the new SmartDog Release V4.7-r3103, numerous new features, integrations, and improvements are now available. The focus is primarily on enhancements in the areas of peak shaving via battery storage, load management, battery control, telecontrol technology, as well as diagnostics and system stability.
A special highlight is the new Battery PeakShaving V1.0, which has already been activated in many systems and has received very positive feedback from our customers.
Overview of new features
Peak shaving and battery systems
The new release includes the implementation of Battery PeakShaving V1.0. In addition, battery control via the EZA library has been expanded, including gradients for compliance with VDE 4105 / 4110. Also new is the integration of the Solax EMS1000 via ModbusTCP.

Load management
SmartDog has also been further expanded in the area of load management. Newly integrated are:
- Keba charging station
- ABB charging station
- Sungrow DC Charger
- Kempower DC Charger
This provides additional solutions for the intelligent control and integration of charging infrastructure.
Inverters and device integration
New types and functions have also been added for inverters and system components. These include:
- Goodwe GW110K-GT
- Sungrow SG5RT
- SMA Sunny Island X
- Huawei 20KTL-MB0
- Sigenergy: new types from 50 kW with more than 4 current inputs can now be read correctly
- Solax Grid: new type definitions for 80 kW and 100 kW devices
Meters and metering concepts
The Ziehl EFR 4002 IP has also been newly integrated. In addition, SmartDog can now respond to Janitza-specific Modbus requests via port 2502, allowing it to simulate a Janitza meter.
Telecontrol technology and grid operators
The range of functions in the area of telecontrol technology has also been expanded. New additions include:
- 11 stages for digital cosPhi specification and feedback
- support for 0–20 mA analog signals
- new or updated data point lists and integrations for:
- Energie AG
- Energie Steiermark
- Stromnetze Graz
- Netze BW IEC 101
- Energie Netze Apolda
- Stromnetz Berlin
- Regionetz
- Harz Energie
Diagnostics and miscellaneous
New diagnostic options have been added for commissioning and troubleshooting. These include:
- ping and port check under diagnostics
- automatic ping and port check during network searches
- RemoteIO Shelly Local with the type “Shelly Plug2”
Further changes and optimizations
In addition to the new features, the release includes numerous technical improvements for ongoing operation. These include:
- distinction between the electricity market price license for battery control and PV reduction
- VNC password is now always set
- TCP connections are automatically re-established in the event of communication problems
- improvements for Solaredge, Solarmax, Huawei, RCT, SmartLogger Huawei, and WSW
- revision of the ping and port check display during bus search
- extensions to global load management, which can now also limit power at the meter
- consideration of global load management even during manual interventions
Bug fixes
With V4.7-r3103, several bugs have also been fixed, including in the following areas:
- calculated EZA meters
- TI grid
- weather forecast settings
- battery widget
- load management configurator
- Solarmax data readout
With Release V4.7-r3103, ecodata continues to consistently develop SmartDog and creates new possibilities for even more flexible and reliable energy management.
