EZA controller according to VDE4110
- Our certified grid-tie controller for PV and batteries is available as a complete solution, including control cabinet, UPS, meter, etc.
- Alternatively, our SmartDog grid-tie controller can also be ordered as a standalone unit.
- Optionally, we can implement remote control technology, including connection to a grid operator's FWT gateway according to IEC 101/104, without the need for an additional PLC.
- Connection to a direct marketer is also possible. Commissioning is performed remotely.
More information about VDE-AR-N 4110 can be found on the VDE website.

Our network operator requires remote control technology - from whom can I obtain this?
Many network operators require the installation of remote control technology even for systems as small as 100 kW.
With SmartDog, you don't need an additional manufacturer for remote control technology or any additional hardware such as PLCs.
Whether the remote control technology uses the IEC 101/104 protocol, digital contacts, analog signals, or Modbus TCP, SmartDog always offers the right solution.
Selecting and configuring the remote control technology is extremely simple and intuitive.

When do I need an EZA regulator?
For all systems connected to a transformer that can feed in more than 270kW (the sum of PV, CHP, storage counts), you need a certified EZA controller!
-
Can I use any inverter?
No - the inverter must have a VDE 4110 certificate.
-
Can I use any counter?
No – VDE 4110 specifies very high accuracy classes for the measuring instruments used.
Only very high-quality instruments meet these accuracy classes.
At Ecodata, you receive a package that fulfills all requirements!
-
What does the certifier need regarding the EZA regulator?
This requires the component certificate for the EZA controller – we can provide that.
It also requires a commissioning report for the EZA controller with the configuration settings – we can provide that as well.
In many cases, proof of the controller's operation is required.
This can be more or less complex depending on the grid operator – we can provide this proof as well.
-
What information does Ecodata need from me?
We need the following information:
- Who is the grid operator?
- Is there power measurement at the grid connection point (GSP)?
- Is there power measurement for PV generation?
- Which inverter manufacturers are being used?
- Is a direct marketer to be integrated?
- Does the grid operator require remote control technology, and should this be supplied by Ecodata?
We need the grid operator's E9 questionnaire.
